I simply cannot decide on what I'll want/need for my computer for college. Advice?

i'm new , have gone , forth between many options (i.e. macbook vs. imac vs. macbook pro vs. macbook air) college.

majoring in pre-medicine/pre-medicine study , i've customized macbook pro want imac college.

i've added , don't believe i'll able afford both. have $5,000 limit on relating computers.

i'll doing:
1) doing basic multitasking (i.e. using iwork, ms office, itunes, mail, safari)
2) watching movies/television
3) watching television online (i don't know if has threading or not)
4) basic photo editing/video editing
5) music creating/editing

multitask , use , advice , i'll need.

also, use secondary monitor now, , i'd too. it's convenient.

have generalized list of i'll want/need , want advice/feedback.

1) macbook pro ($2600)
2) external hard drive ($200)
3) sleeve & case ($100)
4) mouse & keyboard ($150)
5) magsafe (an convenience) ($100)
6) speakers ($100)
7) printer ($300)
8) software ($250)
9) imac ($1500)

, i've gone on limit. again, advice , thoughts i'll need appreciated. in advance.

 

the base imac (21.5" , 27" , need of screen real estate) can want, hell, 2007 imac can that. upgrade ram later quarter apple charges via newegg, crucial, corsair, owc or amazon.

base mbp (13", 15" or 17" again , need screen real estate on mobile computer) want.
hdd , ram can upgraded less, apple charges.
hell again, 2009 mbp can want, 2008 macbook too.

can 1200 usd 21.5" imac or 1700 usd 27" imac , 1200 usd 13" mbp or 1800 usd 15" mbp or 2500 usd 17" mbp.
cost 2400 usd 4200 usd (if need 27" , 17").

btw, if have important data, have @ least backed twice, digital , analog photos , personal video footage, located on 2 500 gb hdds (one photos, 1 videos), backed 1 tb hdd, , 1 tb hdd gets backed 1 tb hdd.
