Buying used samsung galaxy s2 for my cuz?

i got offer 3 months used samsung galaxy s2 bill, box , accessories 470$..i have 2 questions plz:-
1) fair price considering s3 on verge of release , s2 price may fall down
2) things should check before buying phone?? buying first android phone of life..
