Simple(?) mail problem

i'm using provided mail client on macbook pro os x 10.7.
checked mail preferences don't see switch cure problem.

problem: when viewing messages in inbox, display message user , other messages have same message subject , sender. example...if john.smith@mycompany.com sends me email our "widget development"...the mail client include other mail same subject sender...even if year ago.

don't want that!

on how turn behavior off?
