Going from Leopard to, SL, to Lion...

this lot read, i'd appreciate recommendations guys can give me.

have new ipad, new atv, , iphone 4s. haven't opened ipad/atv yet because birthday present , i'm going exchange 64gb 16gb.

have macbook, it's original "new" silver/black macbook came out think in late 2008 (purchased in december 2008). i still running leopard on it, 10.5.8, got mackeeper improve performance , seemed barely anything, , have noticed started slow down little bit overall, brings me next point.

if have ipad, atv, , 4s, make sense me upgrade snow leopard (waste of $30 since need lion, if knows way cheap/free please let me know) , buy lion? way able take advantage of icloud between these devices, having all/most of stuff sync? since i've noticed computer slow down little bit, adding both of these new software slow down more, making not worth upgrade?

have 13,000 songs , no ipod since got stolen few months ago. going go apple tomorrow return ihome , new ipod classic. since have music, suppose make sense buy itunes match $25 year rather ever have deal getting larger gb ipad , iphone.

help? thanks.

ps - chances apple give me free snow leopard download or if see i'm loyal , have these products of theirs?

 

sl run or better leopard. lion run slower on machine.
