Atv 1080p vs Blu Ray quality?

bought first appletv , upgraded apple version2 last year.
kinda bummed apple didn't incorporate 1080 in version2- that's apple way.

720p didn't bother me downloads.
stream or download disposable entertainment- stuff i'm pretty sure want watch once.

films want absolute best presentation , have blu ray that. imo- side side- bluray 1080p blows away see netflix or itunes.

i'm curious how close new 1080p appletv compare blu ray discs.

 

1080p streaming not good. atv3 not make better because highly dependent on isp. though have d/l speeds of 60 mbs, netflix on old roku , boxee average 1080p streaming. decent 1080p streaming have seen vudu. of course, charge more @ $5.99 1080p hd stream.
