Cannot right click and left click at the same time

hardware/software info:
3 year old desktop mac os x 10.6.8, 2.66 ghz intel core 2 duo, 8 gigs ram, apple mighty mouse, model number:a1152

problem: while mouse supports both left, right, middle, , edge clicks, being clicked appears binary, it's either or down. such, when 1 right clicks, becomes impossible left click right clicker held down. in order left click, 1 must first let go of right clicker.

in order play game, batman: arkham city, required hold right mouse, , press left mouse. holding right mouse activates targeting system gadgets, , pressing left, right mouse button still down, activates gadget. i've been having issue 5 hours now, , i've yet able find solution, preventing me progressing in game.

i've tried key-bind functions key with-in game, not support custom keybindings. i've tried keybind keyboard within system preferences allow me press, say, alt enter, or key really, , have system register mouse click, don't seem able change keybinding keyboard.

i've tried without using feature, that's impossible. damn tutorial.

recap; know how either keybind keyboard click, or right , left click @ same time apple mighty mouse?

problem solved: bought new mouse. i'm still interested in knowing if can find workaround though.
