i have cash upgrade camera , want add cf tripod mix. max required hold gripped 7d sigma 120-400 lens. main uses outdoor stuff birding , landscape photography. i'd stay under $600.
have , why particular one?
current tripod manfrotto 055xprob aluminum. it's tall , stable, load carry @ around 6 lbs.

i have gitzo 2-series 3 leg sections. stands tall, don't have stoop on unless composition requires it. has 3 leg sections , leg locks (only 2 per leg) easy open , close. 1 twist both locks open @ once, , closing 2 twists per leg. hook under center column nice feature stabilizing tripod in windy conditions. it's easy take center column out, makes tripod easy stow in suitcase when traveling. legs weigh 3 lbs, don't hesitate take them on long hikes me.
want stay under $600. people want know if includes head or not. head can take half of budget (or of it).
