How can i tell if Lion was clean installed?

i'm embarrassed ask can't remember if clean installed lion on mid-2009 13" mbp - there easy way tell?

it's getting little glitchy (freezing while on wake) i'm inclined wipe & start clean install ... perhaps put ssd in

 

when installed lion did reformat (or repartition) drive or did boot snow leopard, , start lion install?

default install upgrade, unless markedly different don't have clean install
