Security implications External HDD


hi, quick question. have company digitising 8mm film me , transferring external hdd provided. have no reason worry company want know if need run scan on drive or don't harbour windows viruses or that? (i don't think there risk have macs locked down fort knox, don't want slipping through) thanks.
 

if want sure, there no windows viruses or other windows malware on external hdd (if using ntfs, exfat or fat32 format/file system), use clamxav so.

there no viruses mac os x in public circulation, handful of trojans , other malware, have installed manually via entering administrator password.
anti-virus need protect mac education , common sense.
