programming keyboard keys

i got amazonbasics wireless keyboard use mac pro. keyboard designed ipad, bought second 1 use mac pro.

f1-f8 keys have specific functions assigned them (i.e. itunes controls, volume, etc.). assigned functions default , cannot used regular function keys unless hold fn. pleased discover itunes , volume controls work in osx on apple keyboard.

however, functions assigned f1 & f2 (home , search on ipad, respectively) don't under osx. said, these 2 keys not function regular function keys unless hold fn. i'd able program them speed workflow.

possible/any ideas suggestions? i'd open third-party software if that's option. thanks.
