Prepaid data in USA?

hi, i'm visiting la may , i've questions costs of prepaid dataplans use in 3g ipad, got prepaid data 1 day (1gb: 4 dollar, 1 week 3gb: 10 dollar or 1 month 5gb: 25 dollar)in sweden, similar exist in ? prices expect , buy ?

nothing tele2/telia/3 prepaid exists in us. @ least, not can walk store, scratch number off card , enter phone via sms immediate usage.

there may 3g hotspots (think t-mobile, can day pass.)
