hey all,
since few weeks mbp (mid 2010 15", lion) experiencing kernel panics, @ seemingly random times. i've been through guides solve these, it's hard troubleshoot when it's not structurally happening.
observations:
- not tied use of specific application (although doubt that's possible panics).
- os x heavily lags shortly before happens.
- no hardware changes made before panics started happening.
- happens no external devices connected.
- seems happening increasingly often.
- added: there random "freezes" (only mouse moving), not being labeled kernel panics, forcing me hard shut down.
when mac wouldn't start yesterday after panic, started panic myself
. turned out corrupted directory on system drive, luckily solved using wonderful diskwarrior software rebuilding directory.
kernel panics it's hardware problem (correct me if i'm wrong). corrupted drive directory mean it's problem drive, or still else? it's non-standard drive: crucial c300 ssd latest firmware. have third-party ram installed (100% compatible), hasn't given trouble after installing long time ago.
few reports (also containing system info): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
recommendations troubleshoot further? if more info needed, ask away! lot of help!
backup , clean install?
@ least you'll rule out software/os related causes.
