Kernel trap, hard disc lost?

hi there

macbook pro crashed weeks ago. panic rapport was:
kernel trap @ 0x00b5ec1e, type 14=page fault

4 years old. using mac os x leopard. added 8 gb ram 6 months ago.

able start computer , desktop, not able manage anything. locked. , shows same panic report. @ same time screen has flair of magenta , flashes in white colours.
crash happened after boyfriend tried open 200+ raw files in photoshop. stopped proces , started open them in photomecanic, when crash occured.

do?

recover files hard disc.
