iMovie '11 - Constant Spinning Beach Ball

i've read apple support forums , other sites , still can not find solution imovie issue.

takes 15-30 minutes imovie launch. @ random times using app, typicaly when file type operations, spinning beach ball.

i've trashed prefs, removed iphoto videos, repaird permissions, removed projects. nothing seems work.

guess have remove projects and/or events 1 @ time see if there 1 causing issue.

wondering if has advice? i'm on latest lion , imovie , imac core i5 12gb ram.

 

has been problem since day 1 or did start happening after point? can remember when started happening , target particular event/project , see if changes? i've never encountered problem before, there other programs on computer lag? if so, hardware/system issue rather imovie.
