iCloud/iTunes is syncing what?

hi everyone,

i'm first-time iphone owner , i've got questions syncing. had ipod touch while got rid of in 2008, it's been long, long while since i've dealt syncing itunes.

1) when bought 4s, agent @ store helped me set icloud. understanding icloud syncs apps, contacts, calendars, music (itunes store music, seems), , other things ios devices. thing is have one ios device , computer i'm syncing powerbook (yes, know it's old). icloud worth or should stick itunes? can use both without data crossover? icloud keep track of app settings (like game high scores, etc.)?

2) if want start syncing computer (since assume powerbook kick bucket), best move data powerbook new mac , sync or sync new mac icloud? data not sync icloud?

3) if icloud enabled on ios device , disabled, icloud retain data synced?

know questions kind of confusing, , honest, i'm completed confused whole icloud nonsense (back when itunes , had "traditional" syncing, seemed make more sense...at least, me). i've done few forum/google searches, i'm still confused what's best plan me? sounds icloud more people have mac, ipad, , iphone , using three...

thank , patience.

1) syncs you've got selected under settings -> icloud. icloud backup contains more app data (saves games) - not same syncing (it not share data other devices)

can backup both icloud , itunes, should not sync both. purpose of syncing, either pick 1 or other, else risk creating duplicate entries. itunes prevents such thing occurring in cases.

2) new mac can retrieve information icloud (contacts, calendars, etc) no stuff cd collection. recommend backing itunes library if have large music collection. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4527 explains how that.

3) icloud retains data, when delete account off device, changes local information of device , not icloud.
