Finder question for a nooooooob

hello, brand new mac. i've searched around answers, found some, need , clarification.

before start using imac, want make sure have things in right place. have 256gb ssd + 2tb hdd. prior migrating files old pc, put wanted keep in 1 folder separate sub-folders music, pictures, video, etc... in 1-to-1 setup stuck folder on hdd of course 400gb.

in finder, folder located under devices.

how come when click "music" in finder doesn't show of files on hdd? in itunes on hdd. pictures show in finder because okay keeping them on sdd (as hdd) have 16gb of pictures. before imported files iphoto, pictures did not appear in finder.

 

maybe have itunes set not organize music collection copying default "music" folder. believe iphoto has similar setting.
