Official Complaints Over '4G' Marketing of New iPad Taking Hold in Europe

yesterday, noted australian regulators targeting apple on "misleading" marketing of new ipad "4g" device in country despite fact device incompatible lte networks being rolled out there. in response, apple has offered refunds customers feel misled marketing.

concerns on 4g marketing getting attention of regulators in several european countries well, the wall street journal noting swedish consumer agency considering launching investigation matter.
meanwhile, pocket-lint reports similar situation playing out in united kingdom, advertising standards authority fielding complaints customers issue.
the uk has strict regulation of advertising claims, , apple's marketing has been subject of several decisions asa. in 2008, agency banned iphone ad on misleading claims, while more recent decision regarding claims of world's thinnest smartphone came down in apple's favor. asa ruled in apple's favor last month in dispute on advertising siri on iphone 4s.
