i've been getting them point of being @ home screen, , unchecking "erase data" , pulling trigger. has been working, still annoying needless steps nonetheless.
keen photographer , make heavy use of nikon d300, file output being either 12-bit lossless compressed or 14-bit nef. have noticed on last year editing these images on may 2007 macbook has become pain - in particular, takes quite while change make reflected on screen. has taken lot of fun out of hobby , while have changed way use camera minimise need digital darkroom, cannot eliminate need entirely.
desktop system can effortlessly process images - @ point in future expect upgrade higher resolution body , acquire upcoming edition of photoshop, system handle quite bit.
there no particular budget in mind , in no hurry buy anything. thinking along lines of 27" imac appreciate further advice , recommendations, particularly on things displays , storage solutions.

so overall i'm extremely happy "switch" mac. 1 thing bothers me though. whenever want restart machine, have tell 5-6 times in order running apps force quit themselves. don't understand why "restart" doesn't automatically quit them all; want them quit, otherwise wouldn't have clicked restart.
how can make clicking "restart" automatically that? don't want have manually quit everything, stupid , un-mac like. restarting machine should take 1 action , that's it. how make that?

there thread in mac basics , troubleshooting forum. i'll give same answer: mac os x designed quit (but not force quit) open applications. if not shut down, it's because there application hung. if happening on regular basis, , i'm guessing is, need find out why. should not have force quit applications @ all, not every time go restart computer.

i upgraded original iphone iphone 4 last february. had gone through divorce , did not want photos, contacts, texts, old life automatically installed on new iphone. complex task of separating details emotionally daunting @ time, put off entire year , built new life new iphone.
before proceeding, please know i'm tech savvy , have been apple user since 1989. know danger of not backing , understand screwed up. so, please, kindly skip lecture when offering assistance. thank understanding!
when connected new phone computer, sloppy , hit revert. enough time passed serious damage before realized mistake. year's worth of information removed phone quit itunes , ripped cord computer before complete process , install "new" reverted data. photos on phone removed not revert photos installed. old notes removed not revert notes installed. stopped mid-process.
researched forum , elsewhere ways access "drive" see if files remain. learned need jailbreak. proceeded jailbreak using tool find power pc users, pwnagetool 4.2. procedure went smoothly until stopped when itunes stated going "erase" phone before installing new software. didn't want more "erasing" until better understood happening.

1. if stopped "revert" process before data written, did itunes "erase" old files first or mark them "overwrite"? if did not allow full revert process completed, of old files still there yet invisible?
2. jailbreaking limited changes in system partition? itunes "erase" every last sector of drive before installing new ipsw or sector involving system. did overwrite needed sectors, leaving user data sectors intact, if not visible?
3. there jailbreak procedures available not require itunes , can employable on ios 4.2.1. discovered jailbreakme states must "upgrade" system before can used.
4. there easier way or program out there (besides resorting $2000 data recovery , forensics services can't afford) @ drive files that: a. not require jailbreaking? b. can done power pc (my other big problem in nightmare; can't afford macintel either @ time)?

hey guys, bought faulty iphone in pieces , put together. before putting sim in wanted erase on last owner, restored same firmware on (by downloading same firmware of internet , holding shift in itunes). anyway ive put sim in (which cut size myself) have no bars of signal yet next signal bar indicator says "orange". cant make or receive calls, emergency numbers. interestingly though can surf orange mobile website on phone off 3g?? no other sites though orange website. im confused!!

bought iphone yesterday, cut blackberry sim microsim myself wouldn't have update data plan. problem calls "call failed" can in 2 seconds, can in 10 minutes. sim wasn't cut, never says "out of service" or "sim not found" i'm assuming that's not problem.

reinstalling cydia unlikely fix problem. reinstalling mobile substrate might. or uninstall tweaks, reinstall 1 @ time until problem reappears.
1 problem if mess , need restore, jailbreak gone good. dev team recommends installing openssh, if phone moderately messed (like underlying unix boots, user interface crashes) can ssh phone , fix it. there irc channel people can doing (see http://blog.iphone-dev.org/)
important: if install openssh must use log in computer , change ssh password, both user "root" , "mobile". default password "alpine", , can access phone remotely if not change it. if choose safe password openssh should safe.

so stupidly accidentally threw mbp across room last week, , screen cracked. got replacement screen, installed it, there's problem when starting computer. first of all, resolution low (large apple logo on startup). , during startup, spinning wheel @ bottom freezes after 30 seconds , weird things appear (photo attached). booting stops , have hard shutdown. shed light on might try or connection might have come loose?
update: put cracked screen in see if problem persists. , guess what. nope, works fine (besides screen being broken). think company might've sent me wrong screen... sigh...
