How to disable User folder and Macintosh HD shares?

hi there,

received new imac, , ofcourse wanted share public folder windows 7 laptop, , vice versa.

so, in os x lion, checked file sharing, , folder "public", under user(my name) folder, succesfully shared.
however, through windows 7, not see shared public folder, imac's full user(my name) folder , macintosh hd folder, contents.
obviously, don't want other pc see these 2 main folders.

haven't found option disable this, or solution via google search, hence thread.

so, what's shared (accessible via windows pc):
/users/(my name)/public
/users/(my name)
volume macintosh hd

under file sharing settings, shows folder "public map of (my name)", correct restrictions.

why os x lion automatically share everything?

are authenticating same username/password on both machines?
