macbook pro 10.6 blue screen on start up

i have macbook pro. 15" osx 10.6. have had on 2 years now.

@ loss of @ point laptop.
perhaps question has been asked sure, ask again.
problem is, @ start blue-ish white screen. have tried cmd s either run fcsk or applejack. have loaded os 10.6 disks came pro , holding down "c" key apple comes , spiral searching seems.. , stays there, nothing else happens.

left on disk in half night , stayed @ point. when turn on, blue-ish white screen stays there.. , folder in middle of screen appears center question mark. have tried diskwarrior no avail. frustrated @ point. why doing there "fix". real answers? beside bring in , paying huge amount of money on 2 year old machine, husband paid 5k originally? frustrated least.
