iBook Author blurring the lines of App development... so to which to choose?

hi there.

sorry if in wrong forum, thought more of expert opinion here.

thinking of ios app idea. without giving away ideas, think of comedic/satirical guide type thing. basic idea users pick categories, open individual ideas have humorous pictures , text, possibly video or two. in basic app. wouldn't looking draw information online or anything.

then. ibook author. appears want do, plus relatively easy do. wrong in thinking new types of textbooks apple touting more app ebook?

of course, there whole issue of ibooks being way less popular apps (for now) , mean in terms of potential sales...

disclaimer, have minimal experience perl coding 1 semester, know i'm not expert @ this. i've researched idea in terms of trying find if been done before , after hour of searching i'm not finding anything. can see 'working'. , no, i'm not looking mega riches, fun side project.

yes, more knowledgable me explain pro's , con's of developing idea ibook vs app standpoint, bearing in mind simplicity of i'm looking do, great.

well, ibook content. text, pictures, maybe movies arranged interesting package. want present content in best possible way. think along lines of author writing document , how don't care bits , bytes or if-then-elses. author care font faces, kerning, dpi , stuff.

programming solutions. possible solution can present content. and, yes, can write app present content. although want consider best tool job @ hand.

that might true "on average". don't care average. want your book read.
there large quantity of apps in script-kiddy-style lower average quality. , same true books. same there many flashlight , fart apps, there way many books sun tzu art-of-war-in-who-cares-what (for example).

in other words: if content interest people might sell... ;)
