What should I test for new ATV3 when it is delivered these two days?

i have bought atv3 , have delivered these few days. i'm going connect atv3 hdmi panasonic plasma , optical yamaha av receiver. test items should go through make sure atv3 operational?

gears such imac, new atv3... wired cat5e through gigabit siwtch leave 801.11g connecting ipad2 via dd-wrt router.

suggestion? tks adv in advance.

i guess easiest way see if atv3 operational plug in , turn on.
