FW cable

hello all. new forum , new mac world new 21.5 imac. after 15 years of clunky, crash , virus prone pcs. fabulous machine far. 1 question: have alesis mastercontrol firewire mixing board want connect, there couple discrepancies. fw port on allegedly fw 800, must mini-connect - right? secondly, board has fw400 full-sized port. suggestions find cable has mini fw 800 connector on 1 end , full size fw 400 connector on other? i'd avoid adapters if possible.

no, it's regular fw800 port. from: http://www.apple.com/imac/specs.html:
