2011 13" Macbook Air vs 2011 Mac Mini (base models)

hi everyone. own 13" macbook air (mid 2011) model , love it, i'm wondering if it's worth getting i5 2.3ghz mac mini, too. plan on buying 2012 imac once releases (i'd sell mac mini then, if buy it).

right use mba @ school (on battery) ~4 hours day, come home, plug in power adapter , hook monitor, mouse, , keyboard use @ home, , repeat mon-fri. on weekends leave plugged in on ac power.

i'm considering buying mac mini because want ideally preserve life of mba battery as can (i want last me until 2015 when graduate). if pick mini, use air on battery 1 day @ school, , use while plugged in power cord next day (which feel make use out of charge cycles , battery).

dilemma i'm having whether or not worth buy mac mini. i'd buy base model , upgrade 8gb memory on own. don't need optical drive might pick external 1 if find deal on one. considering biggest reason want it, right now, not put air through many charge cycles, make difference in helping preserve battery on next few months?

read few things on these new batteries , how they're supposed work , last, guess i'm worried if continue use air daily until whenever imac comes out, it'll take toll on battery.

on side note, i've been looking @ benchmarks between air , mini , doesn't seem there's of difference, of on base mini 2gb of ram. notice difference in 2 after upgrading 8gb (1.7ghz, ssd, 4gb vs 2.3ghz, 5400rpm, , 8gb)? i'm running ichat, itunes, chrome, ms word, ms powerpoint, , mplayer osx extended.

in advance guys!

i'm in same boat - however, use mbp daily @ work second computer (mostly non-work related stuff) use @ home main device. going kill battery , i'd new machine. i'm pretty sure have narrowed imac have stationary computer while i'm here don't have open bad boy up.

side note - may getting ipad 2 when 3 comes out also, unless make significant changes.
