WiFi iTunes Synch Issue

i have both iphone , ipad set wifi sych. however, each time click on device , click synch, itunes goes through process of looking device. device disappears itunes. i'm on same wifi network when i'm doing this. did else run problem , know of possible fix?

did plug in usb cable first , connect itunes, check off sync on wifi? had issue when first setup mine.
