Upload iPhoto library to FTP server

my apologies if has been answered. feel has, after hours of searching haven't found it.

request feels simple. want iphoto library on ftp server. have server. have filezilla. willing try else that's free. tried dragging , dropping whole iphoto libarary using filezilla after letting run 3 days straight little progress made. there way compress library before uploading? or way use iphoto's built-in export feature? need modified photos , titles. don't need originals, description, faces, etc.
