Searchmagnified trojan on Snow Leopard, how to get rid of it?

hey,

dad's got searchmagnified trojan on mac, on snow leopard. says he's seen sites redirecting, , stuff, , keeps popping up.

know how rid of it? , know it's capable of? it's not kind of key logger or anything, right?

he doesn't have trojan. dns settings need changed. have him reset browser(s), clearing cookies , cache, , reset router. make sure he's using safe dns servers in both mac , router, referencing post: why being redirected other sites?

macs not immune malware, no true viruses exist in wild can run on mac os x, , there never have been since released on 10 years ago. cannot infect mac visiting website, unzipping file, opening email attachment or joining network. malware in wild can affect mac os x handful of trojans, cannot infect mac unless actively install them, , can avoided basic education, common sense , care in software install. also, mac os x snow leopard , lion have anti-malware protection built in, further reducing need 3rd party antivirus apps.
