note save wanting answers or similar questions don't have read entire topic
: of february 2012, whole 2 years since made topic, i've come conclusion powerbook's pmu culprit trouble, apparently (though not confirmed) on logic board, means... means fixing cost more laptop worth. came conclusion through process of elimination agree isn't concrete proof it's enough me warrant giving trying bother fixing it. if have ideas beyond explored in topic be, or indeed if have solid proof , solution, please feel free update topic.

working fine until apparently sunday morning. it's pb g4 15" 1.67 (the last 1 made, hi res screen). adapter's genuine a1021 65w, battery genuine too. turned mac on other day use it, plugged in charge. later on closed lid , put sleep, time after needed use power socket else unplugged adapter briefly, when finished plugged in mac continue charge (all while mac still asleep). after noticed few hours later still charging investigated , realised in actual fact wasn't charging @ all, though said was.

when plug adapter in light goes green briefly before changing orange, leds on battery not light or flash when charging. , battery status in menu bar merely says @ first "battery not charging" before changing "calculating... until full" "10:00 until full". never drop below 10 hours though, when pull plug out battery still has same percentage charge left in did when plugged in.

i've tried resetting nvram/pram , pmu several times no avail. went far doing permission repair , disc verification in disk utility (both booted 10.5.8 , leopard install disk) didn't solve anything. i've read of issue seems have cropped many times on years, lot of people seem pin blame on dodgy battery, less seems adapter gets blame , i've seen handful of people claim dc circuit board in mac culprit. guys think? considering battery 10 months old (since bought apple's online store), , has never shown signs of failing or peculiar behaviour, what's more be? battery adapter or dc circuitry? or maybe else entirely i've missed?

does change if wiggle or spin charging socket in laptop?
