New mac for programming and career?

hey guys,
student , taking programming class. in coming quarters taking programing class alot of network classes. using white macbook 13'' surely dieing due use of of these applications have install school(mainly eclipse, using lot of other programs network classes ) went apple store today , guy there recommended 15'' mbp. died when told me $1600(with student discount). question is, worth money 15'' or guy @ apple store taking me ride , should 13''?

also, have macbook going sell, how should put on craigslist for? 2009 2.13ghz core2 duo 2 gigs of ram.

i use older 13" mbp non work related programming(we use linux @ work) , fine eclipse, things wire shark, , running 2 vm's simultaneously network programming. screen is, however, rather small. @ home hook 24" monitor of time. if you're going using mbp on go screen real estate of 15" worth if can afford it. i'd go hires if possible. home use 13" external monitor great.

if money concern might able more life out of current setup adding memory. 2 gig not enough. have 8 gig in 2.4ghz c2duo mbp(2010) , fast enough.

longer can hold out buying computer, faster next 1 be.
