laser cartridge scam?

i've searched around internet , found lot of beefing laser printer cartridges being rip off, not substance. don't know start, thought begin here. weighed cartridges before , after.
have hp 2605dn color laser jet @ home , 2600 dn in classroom.
weighed cartridges using gram scale. did when printer stopped working, , said replace cartridges.

color new (grams) old(grams) difference (grams)
yellow 646.3 636.38 9.92
cyan 646.2 641.3 4.9
magenta 644.3 642.1 2.2
black 659.6 603.5 47.5
toner cartridges new h-p, in sealed cartons.
replaced when printer refused make anymore prints , indicated needed replacing. less 6 months old.

never print color, yet olor cartridges need replacing twice year. black cartridges 3x. can seen black cartridge used 5 x toner yellow, 10x cyan, , 24x magenta. don't believe these cartridges 'spoil' on time.

problems i've ever had print quality bad drums in authorized cartridges themselves. ( wasn't aware i'd spent $75 or @ school $200 (district mark-up) bad hp cart.
think if measurement protocol established , large numbers of users weighed , shared results patterns emerge indicating we're being scammed.
thoughts?

toner doesn't spoil humidity , other environmental factors can affect usability of toner cartridge , toner in it.

lot of toner cartridges use optical sensors detect when they're "out" and, depending on sensor, may or may accurate. toner's near scam ink is.
