here's tough one...
has else found issues between ipad2 cloud , 3rd party email servers?
know may sound strange, many controlled tests on several weeks have confirmed this:
have (2) ipad2's in house (hers & mine)
have home wifi network
wifi printer
have our own email servers 5 different email accounts (our family business) pop3 accounts
connect internet through cablevision (optonline)
wife's ipad, itouch & bb have been using our wifi email & internet on year without issue.
when wife got ipad2 turned on icloud. that's when problems started. email access became intermittent. reloading passwords, , deleting account , reloading necesary working...but did not work. strange. typically, able receive not send.
took ipad. email no longer worked...but bb (blackberry did through bb server, know email servers working through whole adventure).
went through tech support godaddy (our email server host), cablevision, applecare , no 1 figure out.
ports changed, tested etc. push off (pop servers not push...so have been told)
finally, noticed difference icloud. turned off.
suddenly, light switch, email issues went away.
apple blamed godaddy, godaddy blamed cablevision, cablevision blamed apple.
fine problem returned week later.
looked through ipad settings , there was...she had icloud setting off except photo stream, thought ok use.
turned photostream off , mail started running again.
@ first glance, seem icloud was, lack of better words, capruting , holding email hostage through wifi. internet never interupted...only email. throught whole time, pc , mac both able send & receive email.
can choose not belioeve this, know fact if turn icloud setting on our home wifi become erratic , intermittant.
forwarding our email through icloud not valid business solution not option.
ask me know heck going on here.
ps: have spoken (3) other people know have experienced same thing...on different netorks different internet providers.
