Help me Troubleshoot Very Strange Wifi Issue

i in graduate school in suite several others. have mbp running lion , internet hard wired through port on wall via ethernet cable.

there 2 ports on wall. 1 me , 1 roommate. not have computer, using both ports...one mbp via ethernet , other port goes netgear wireless router run wireless our iphones. there no macs or pcs hard plugged router...just jack give signal.

wifi works fine part, @ least until turn on external monitor mbp run dual displays. second screen hooked via mini dvi hdmi. when turn on monitor watch tv, wifi works expected. when switch input hdmi use mbp, lose wifi signal together. phones nor pc or mac can find signal. switch tv or turn monitor off, , wifi comes back.

hdtv not contain wifi support knowledge stumped why losing wifi signal...

ideas?

 

there few threads around here posters reporting map hdmi cables/ connectors cause airports drop signal when connected monitor. try , switch channels on router see if maybe cable shielding isn't working snuff , causing interference signal.
