so on macbook 1 day when dog jumped @ me , knocked tea on macbook. turned off , turned on hour later (idiot!!). let dry upside down 2 days safe. when turned on again found worked fine long used external mouse , keyboard. letters on internal keyboard don't work volume brightness , other top buttons work along track pad. seem me have replace keyboard weird thing whenever use internal keyboard mouse gets screwed , no matter way click it thinks it's right click. problem goes away when press key on external keyboard reason. know chance of fixing problem pretty bleak there way besides forking on $750 apple fix problem? computer works fine loses purpose of being laptop having lug around keyboard , mouse along it.
ok kind of macbook have pre unibody or unibody?
if have pre unibody a1181 style macbook, replacing top case, incorporates both keyboard , trackpad, pretty straightforward. if on other hand have unibody macbook late 2009/ early- mid 2010, replacing top case on model, pain , no means straightforward. replacement top cases for either type of macbook readily available, likes of ebay. sell around 30 - 35 usd. make sure check version of macbook have model identifier, , should absolutely fine. if you're not sure taking macbook apart, there teardown , reassembly videos available on youtube.
