Change pixel ratio of live video

hey guys,

have search high , low make happen , not sure if possible.

eye tv software make available few different aspect ratios. 1 want 2.35:1 or thereabouts. 1 not have.

trying find way force happen.

16:9 tv filled 16:9 aspect ratio want black bars. want shrink vertical aspect (not crop) image smaller not loose of it. (something xbmc can example) understand distorts image allows me use the black bars on desktop display other things.

have switch res mac not sure how use make happen. tried writing apple scripts resized window image within didn't change.

if has idea or suggetions great.

setup:

mac mini 2011 server
eyetv 3.5.4
plasma 720p tv

 

can vlc player help? can change aspect ratio via "a" key:
