hello all
have been fighting wifi issues since around christmas (december 25th) on 2011 imac. have found temporary solution, , reboot machine. works (seemingly) random amount of time. has worked day or 2 @ time before, , not made more 5 minutes.
when problem gets bad, can lose connection wifi every 5-10 seconds few minutes, , fine hour before starting on again. seems random intervals because i'm not aware of i'm doing differently @ different times, doesn't mean i'm not.
have tried deleting network preferred list, re-adding it.
have tried reinstall combo update apple
have tried make new location.
2 weird things have noticed. when wifi drops, speed. can achieve around 7mb/s downloads, once wifi issue begins happening, lucky 1 mb/s downloads - uploads never affected.
looking idea. saw reinstalled snow leopard, reinstalled lion , updated 10.7.3 again , fine. i'd stray away if possible, i'll have in end.
large enough problem have pretty stopped using imac because need on internet research term papers due soon. laptop on 10.6.8 not experience problem @ all. other 15+ devices (xbox, ps3, windows , mac laptops (none on lion other mine) android , iphones/ipods) not affected. imac on lion sole device having issues.

one thing not mention, , it's oldie. shut down router , modem if separate.
reboot after 1 2 minutes....make sure mac not connected email, internet during time.
