2.7GHz and 3.1GHz?

is same i5-2400 chip used in each 27" imac? or apple oem chip of sorts runs @ lower speed.

seems kind of counterproductive purposely bottleneck computer.

 

the current 27" imac offers intel 3.1ghz core i5 (2400). it's same other intel 3.1ghz core i5 (2400)'s.
