i have had mac 9 months or so. generally, happy, there few niggly problems. list them & see if can answer or all.
firstly, it’s 2.8ghz intel core i5. 4 gig ram. operating mac os 10-6-8.
photographer running usual suspects......bridge/photoshop/canon dpp/toast, plus safari & microsoft outlook continuously. invariably, word & excel.
computer seams slower, before. if upgrading, recombination’s ram, requirements? looked @ crucial & prices not horrendous, business slow, have far resisted chucking ram (& money) @ it.
when open word or excel, not open @ full width of monitor, there way that can set default?
when opening & closing word docs, if 2 docs open @ same time, & 1 closed, complete program minimizes trough. program stay put , show second doc, underneath.
when printing photoshop using epson 4880, printer software insists on reverting “auto expand” never use auto expand & never will! have reset (to borderless, retain size) every time run print.
somebody, can add helpful! in advance. martin
16 gb start & cheap. your model supports 32 gb ram. requirements in manual. if use lot of internet pages, make sure not use webkit-based browsers (chrome, safari), , disable browser-plugins (enable them if necessary). webkit-based browsers use available ram "if necessary", means other applications not ram need.
