Syncing files locally from a NAS

difficult know put post. going purchase synology nas use in conjunction imac, windows laptop , ipad2. have heard , read synology product. question - wife worst person ever @ keeping documents current , synchronised. she's bending ear complaining document had completed on imac isn't available on laptop. when explain (or try explain) why shuts off , asks me fix it?

anyway digress question. idea when create document , save nas there easy way without copying , pasting/dragging same document automatically saved locally either on laptop or imac when either 1 subsequently switched on? know don't need , perhaps overkill i'm trying save myself grief.

heard of dropbox?

better solution, , means when uses laptop out , about, won't have try , connect nas on network access files.

dropbox free (2gb allowance), , effortless keep in sync. dropbox folder can place on desktop, , in folder gets synced without having anything.

downside if dealing large files (depends on internet bandwidth), larger 50mb, uploaded dropbox's servers each time edits it.
