Apple's Share of Profits Among Top Mobile Phone Vendors Hits 75%

asymco's horace dediu has released latest calculations of revenue , profits in global mobile phone industry, finding apple has increased share of top vendors' profits 75%. samsung followed in second place 16% of industry profits while no other vendor accounted more 4% of profits.
dediu's analysis covers 8 top mobile phone vendors: apple, samsung, nokia, research in motion, htc, lg, motorola, , sony ericsson. while numbers not include few major players such china's zte public numbers not available, analysis provide relatively solid picture of industry.

according dediu's numbers, apple has held top spot in profits 13 quarters in row since overtaking nokia, , dominates industry 75% share of profits. apple succeeds generating high profitability on high-end devices, enabling take majority of profits while still controlling less 10% of unit sales.
