i had buy macbook pro random person on kijiji (a site craigslist) after 2010 macbook pro stolen , have no idea programs legally installed or if mac rebuilt scrap parts (i think it's 2007 model, , no serial number shows anywhere on mac) , i'm wondering if apple still fix macbook if possibly have illegally downloaded software on , don't have original receipt or anything?? know won't covered under warranty, need built in isight repaired because it's not working @ app. tried every online solution troubleshooting still says there's no camera connected i'm assuming there's problem hardware or cable can't fix myself. bought used macbook last october , today experienced problems isight.

part of tim cook's statements @ today's media event, announced ios 5.1 available today. 1 important addition in updated operating system japanese support siri on iphone 4s. support rolling out on next few weeks. ios 5.1 includes much-requested ability delete photos photo stream, inside redesigned camera app.
apple says ios 5.1 , itunes 10.6 available today free software updates. new version of itunes not yet available download on apple's website, , waiting ios 5.1 go live.

- get mpeg streamclip.
- open .avi file in mpeg streamclip.
- go file > export quicktime (cmd+e).
- select "apple intermediate codec" under compression.
- leave sound @ uncompressed , uncheck interlaced scaling, footage progressive.
if have several video files, can use mpeg streamclip's batch list:
.mov files use apple intermediate codec, codec imovie understands , uses , doesn't need transcode anymore.

difficult know put post. going purchase synology nas use in conjunction imac, windows laptop , ipad2. have heard , read synology product. question - wife worst person ever @ keeping documents current , synchronised. she's bending ear complaining document had completed on imac isn't available on laptop. when explain (or try explain) why shuts off , asks me fix it?
anyway digress question. idea when create document , save nas there easy way without copying , pasting/dragging same document automatically saved locally either on laptop or imac when either 1 subsequently switched on? know don't need , perhaps overkill i'm trying save myself grief.

corel draw sucks...
i've been forced send corel files clients, work in illustrator. i'm using windows machine (i guess there's no way out)... corel x5 can import illustrator cs5 files, gradients won't open right , corel doesn't supports illustrator clipping masks (corel reads mask object)... took me hour import business cards ai corel... , sucks...
, use corel draw it's horrible...
luck, need windows , patience right...
p.s. love corel painter though...

my boss asked me if need new computer office... don't know do.
background:
main working machine own 15'' mbp (2011 model). spend 2 days week @ office, other days @ offices elsewhere. typical daily routines include word processing (latex, keynote), writing & running c/c++ code (often cpu intensive), , lots of online research , reading. have access few remote servers more demanding calculations.
i've considered of following:
1. external (thunderbolt) display
2. mbp 15/17 don't have use own machine
3. 13'' mba (+ external screen?)
4. imac
5. windows/linux desktop
things would, in 1 or other way, me:
- large screen, or second screen
- data backup, or full mirror of working machine
- less weight carry around
5. useless. 2. great if mbp old, right wouldn't benefit much. mba lacks ram everyday use.
how easy keep 2 osx lion machines synchronized? leave mbp @ home, work on imac, , come home , continue work on mbp next day, without excessive copying? i'm using dropbox, , of files relatively small.
guess question whether benefit more imac or external display. i'm open other suggestions useful setup, , synchronizing.

picked @ best buy today ($30) , i'm loving it! use ipad lot while either reclined on couch or while laying in bed , hated having hold ipad 1 hand while , hated typing more.
had spare apple bluetooth keyboard laying around perfect. sturdy, angle perfect (there adjustability in angle depending on how connect velcro in back) , importantly, , reason didn't want 1 of other keyboard cases out there, fact compatible tablet, won't obsolete when change next ipad. plus, use apple keyboard better other ipad keyboard case out there since pretty tiny in size.
love having cmd+c/v again via actual keys , being able use arrow keys when typing/editing something.
1 thing love sturdy hinge position @ whatever angle want, pretty awesome , don't know why there isn't 1 available out there.
