Broken iPhone4, a few options: What would you do?

my beloved iphone4 (32gb) decided walk off nightstand. front screen glass cracked phone functional. believe have few options. do?

background info:

-i have applecare through june 2012. unfortunately don't have applecare + have covered cosmetic damage. plan add applecare + next phone.

-i eligible phone upgrade at&t on february 25, 2012. of course, brings multiple options table since upgrade date soon. if wasn't this, have got fixed/replace no thinking throws me.

option #1 - simple replacement
when iphone4 front screen breaks, whole phone needs replaced. $149 through apple store. uncertain if keep broken phone , replacement option. consider given other option. understand there 3rd party options here cheaper not sound appealing me.

option #2 - upgrade iphone 4s
i'd have wait month cracked screen, eligible discounted upgrade via at&t next month. base iphone4s (16gb) $199, $50 more replacement fee iphone4 regular. downgrade in hdd capacity me (from 32gb) or shell out $100 32gb iphone4s @ $299 ($150 more replacement). bonus option keep cracked working phone. sell reasonable price on craigslist. thoughts?

other factors
wife at&t , not have iphone. eligible upgrade , interested in iphone in coming months. she'd interested in old phone (if replaced) combination of options. iphone bonus her, not true need.

means both of eligible upgrade soon. use 1 or both depending on factors. or simple replacement , act nothing happened (but sheesh $150, might buy new phone?). also, don't want blow upgrade if new iphone5 coming out in next 8 months.

think idea..

i'd go option 1, , wait use upgrade next iteration of iphone.
