Mac Mail: Access to Exchange account after account deactivation?

finished graduate school , have few years of important information (emails, attachments) contained in university exchange email account. university deactivate account.

still have access in mac mail locally on computer after account terminated? notice can read , open attachments when computer not online, hopeful retain information.

yea will. recommend creating mailbox "on mac" , dragging in there safe.
