Best Monitor for a MacBook Pro?

hey guys,

i've decided i'm going splash out on monitor 2011 macbook pro don't know go for. i'm looking 1 maybe between 20" , 25" , price doesn't matter. have high res display on macbook (1680 x 1050) mean i'll have buy monitor same resolution best out of it?

many

no - if buying 2 new monitors mac pro/mini sensible have them same size/resolution line them side-by-side, macbook, whatever do, you'll have 2 different (physical) size screens.

possible have dual-display setup different sizes/screen resolutions both running @ max resolution - can go preferences set relative orientation (so easy mouse between them) , choose primary display (with menu bar, dock etc.).

...or can close down lid of macbook, attach external keyboard , use new big monitor.

time resolution issue when want "mirror" displays - i.e. have same picture on each - in case you'll lowest resolution of 2 displays, , image may little stretched or blurry on larger screen - time want if you're demoing software on projector.

i'd recommend getting external keyboard & mouse or trackpad , griffin elevator stand lift macbook same level monitor, use macbook display secondary screen reference material etc.

nb: check monitor work intended connection method - monitors displayport don't work 2011 thunderbolt macs , mini-displayport-to-full-displayport cable (e.g. hp lp2475w, although has dvi-in works fine apple dvi adapter.) hence query elsewhere in forum other hp monitors.

if you're going use display macbook apple 27" displays things of beauty (unless allergic glossy screens) - use 27" cinema display @ work - lack flexibility of being able connect other computers.

(hp lp2475w - 24" 1920x1200 - when got v. cheap ips panel, gives viewing angles @ expense of "white" light leakage in black areas. displayport input no 2011 macs, 2xdvi , 1xhdmi + composite that's not big issue. whistling noise when turn brightness down. anti-glare "sparkly" until got used - i'm spoiled acd @ work. overall: so-so).
