iCloud is automatically downloading songs I didn't select to my iPhone?

hello,

1 annoying issue i'm having itunes match when start music app on iphone 4s , select , play song that's stored in cloud, 1 or 2 other songs start downloading well. can see either square & circle downloading icon appearing next other songs, or going itunes > more > downloads , seeing download progress there.

i'll stream 1 song on iphone, maybe not way through, , later i'll go settings > general > usage , scroll down music , there 18mb or 30mb or worth of songs on iphone. ever selected 1 song, , these other ones want start downloading themselves, same album. phone 16gb , conserve space on kind of annoying having keep deleting songs never played.

wondering if else experiencing @ all? thanks.
