Which Geektool is executing?

i upgraded 10.6.8 10.7.3 last weekend. used geektool prefpane forever in 10.6 put stuff on desktop.

in preparation upgrade 10.7 had read geektool prefpane doesn't work in lion , needed geektool app mac app store instead. installed geektool app before did lion upgrade (but never ran it).

upgrade went smooth, figured upon first login i'd kind of error prefpane , need start geektool app login item. however, upon first login, geektool items appeared on desktop without me starting app!

i'm wondering, lion smart enough disable prefpane version of geektool , substitute app? or old prefpane still working in lion? there easy way tell version being used?

wow....over 500 views , no 1 has answer....

anyway - i'll answer myself....

prefpane version "kind of" running - existing stuff on desktop, if tried edit wouldn't work. had delete prefpane , fire app version. maybe this'll else down road.
