boring 3gs unlock problems again !

hello everyone, joined have 1st iphone. have looked through threads still confused being older generation!
put have
3gs serial xx0396xxxxx, on 5.01 fw , 05.16.05 baseband updated last owner. have redsnowed , have cydia. there way unlock , retain gps functionality ie: retain 05.16.05 or must ipad , risky?
sorry bore guys again things change fast never know whats date. i(n return may able common uk , jap car faults)

 

installing ipad baseband way unlock 3gs on 5.0.1. since you're in uk, carrier may offer unlocks iphones.
