i want rip deadwood, can watch on iphone , ipad.
i've never ripped tv shows before, , i've never seen series, don't know how identify episodes. i'm sure wikipedia has list of them, in correct order on dvd? first hour-long track should episode 1, etc?
if not, how identify them?
thanks.
well, assuming you're using handbrake...
usually, if episodes have own titles, appear chronologically on title list. won't easy pick out (it's not uncommon commercials or bonus features higher in title list episode), once find 1 episode, episodes below should sequential (i.e., if episode 1 title 8, , there's episode on title 9, 1 should episode 2).
sure title contains episode, i'd open dvd player , play individual episodes , see title dvd player application displays. can clicking on small window inside virtual remote, while "title" option highlighted, until display shows set of numbers in format of #(current title)/#(total titles).
tv on dvd dvd's include larger title contains episodes either in addition or in leu of individual titles, episodes separated chapter markers. if case, can above identify chapters correspond episodes, except instead of having "title" option highlighted, have "chapter" option highlighted. again, you're looking number format of #(current chapter)/#(total chapters). once have chapter ranges episode, can tell handbrake chapter range encode , encode of episodes individual files.
also, dvd's have duplicate episodes commentaries. usually, these episodes contain same audio tracks plain episode, if ever watch show commentary track enabled, you'll want make sure audio track present. if aren't careful, may end encoding same episode twice.
on note, if have iphone 4 or 4s, can use appletv 2 preset in itunes encode 1 file that'll play on ipad, iphone 4, , pretty on tv or computer screen too. again, said assuming you'll using handbrake encoding process.
