MBA external display 2560x1440 problems

hey.

been googling hour can't figure out. tried using switchresx well, no go.

have latest mba , i'm trying connect 27" 2560x1440 display.

using both minidisplayport > vga , > dvi no higher resolution 1080p.

also, i'm start work @ new place soon, i'll getting mbp, , need know have work same display. (i'm assuming it's same mba, don't know?).

machine not able output 2560 through vga/dvi adapter, or doing wrong? other adapter need?

max horizontal res vga 2048 (from memory). on 1080 you'll either need dual-link dvi or stick native displayport (if possible).
