i have 2tb book studio connected via usb airport extreme.i have been using mybook (sounds redundant lol) airport extreme automatically through time machine on year now. of sudden other day stopped working. airport utility kicks in , advised there problem attached hard drive, connect computer fix. unplug airport , airport immedately starts responding again.i connect itunes through hard drive. really hope hard drive not f'ed because have 200 gigs of music on there upset if had replace.
when plug hard drive macbook wd smartware logo appears in top right corner normal hard drive not appear on screen or in finder. disk mounts in disk utility when connect striaght macbook. under 2 tb wd book, there sub hard drive called "disk1s2". when run repair , run verify on main 2 tb wd book, says both ok.
when run test under "disk1s2" says invalid key length, not verified completely. under disk repair says cant repair disk, many of files possible, reformat disk, , restore backed-up files.
please tell me isnt worse nightmare, mean makes of ups.
it doesn't sound music backup, since library resides on external drive , not duplicated elsewhere.
