Netbeans previews

anyone have idea why pages wont preview correctly through netbeans 7.1? mac osx 10.6.8.

if open html written in notepad through safari, 'true' view of page (i assume, because works expected), if open same file in netbeans , click run, shows plain text no formatting, images etc.

i'm trying preview php document , can't preview browser, having same problem.

i'm using mamp , mysql workbench databases, though don't think these issue?

n00b in of i'm afraid, step-by-step advice or instructions appreciated

i use netbeans, not html or php, i'll try help, no sure how i'll be...

anyway, type of project did create? also, have php plug-in installed?
